This one goes out to the ones who want to increase their makeup confidence quotient. If you don’t identify with that then rock on with your own individual makeup vibes, I’m cheering you on from afar! Enhancing feelings of empowered confidence, fully realized within each person’s own special-unique-to-them most fabulous energy, is what my work is about.
My encouragement to you today: Wear what you are attracted to, what you like, without worry of perceptions or impressions, if it allows you to feel your very best. After 20 plus years in the beauty industry, I have heard comments like, “Ooooh I looove that color, but I could never” so MANY times. I’ve heard all the reasons why clients won’t wear what they like, instead only venturing into very neutral and conservative, similar to each other, small ranges of color that leave them wanting. Listen, I love minimalist makeup and neutrals too. I enjoy giving that look its moment, believe me. However, it is also important, to allow color in and out, to not mute our own vibrancy for the sake of others. Life is precious and so are each of us!
Makeup is a tool for self expression. If given the opportunity, it can be an aesthetic representation of our kaleidoscopic nature as complex humans. We each encompass incredible dimension and color, choosing to display that externally, is a freedom we should all innately have. As an enhancer, aka professional makeup artist, I feel inspired to verbalize this in a way that inspires others to view and perform their own makeup applications from a limitless point of view. Makeup can be such a fun and freeing experience. One of my passions as a makeup artist is to enable others to operate from that self-fulfilling and adventurous mindset, so they can show up and shine in all that they do.
Remember, life’s not a dress rehearsal, so shine on and share your sparkle in full color.
